Newnes Hotel Cabins

Historical wilderness retreat

The works are progressing on The Hotel

We’ve been busy with the restoration of the old pub. Chris and Andy have done their magic re-cladding the north wall and replacing the western verandah roof. Most work is in replacing and repairing the wall and roof structure. Once the battens are down the sheets just go bzzz bzzz… very quick. I bought all the roofing for the entire roof - shiny gal iron, I am afraid. It was the consensus in the end of many different minds. Mainly the fact that a historic building should have gal iron - all historic buildings are gal iron because they didn’t have Colourbond 100 years ago. We are promised that the glaring shinyness will fade.
